Our narrowboat is officially registered as a “small ship” and the Ship’s Log gives an account of all her voyages. Each numbered “Mission” report recounts the highlights of the trip and various lessons we learn are collected in separate categories:
By land will highlight useful information for anyone visiting a particular canal, village, woodland, pub or other attraction.
By boat collects our gradually accumulating experiences of locks, moorings and chandleries.

A typical day aboard is filled with fun but necessary activities related to locks, mooring ropes, engine checks and collecting water. However, we sometimes make time for making jewellery, cooking and crochet. Anything deemed successful is captured in Made On Board.
The steadily changing perspective of life afloat can be surprisingly thought provoking and any potentially useful insights or wisdom acquired along the way can be found in Thinking in ink.

About us:
In 2022, we bought a narrowboat and since then we have lived about half our lives aboard. One of our first on board acquisitions was a Wi-Fi dongle which enables us to work and keep in touch while floating through the countryside.
